Whale

DG0207

The Whale is a large-scale, nature-inspired climbing structure designed to create a striking visual feature while delivering a diverse and engaging play experience. Built around a sculptural steel frame, this unit captures the form of a whale, inviting children to explore, climb and interact from all angles.

The curved frame incorporates a combination of internal climbing nets, steel bars and timber elements, allowing for multiple access points and varied play pathways. Children can climb through the body, traverse along the structure and interact with the fins and tail, promoting strength, coordination and imaginative play.

Timber-clad fins and tail sections add warmth and tactile contrast to the steel frame, while also providing additional climbing and balancing opportunities. The open structure maintains clear sightlines for supervision while encouraging continuous movement and exploration throughout the unit.

Constructed from heavy-duty steel framing with integrated timber elements and supported by substantial concrete footings, the Whale is designed for long-term performance in schools, parks and public spaces. Its unique form makes it an ideal centrepiece for nature play environments or themed playgrounds.
