This project was designed to celebrate the unique natural setting, drawing inspiration from the lake, surrounding bushland, and the community’s vision for a vibrant, inclusive destination.
We worked closely with the Town of Cambridge’s landscape architects to deliver a landmark play space at Lake Monger.
We started with the landscaping and then moved on to design and built the play space which features a diverse range of custom-built elements including climbing towers, rope bridges, timber balancing logs, and nature-based climbing challenges.
Key highlights include dual flying foxes, a giant nest swing, limestone rock play, and bespoke concrete slides that add variety and excitement for children of all ages.
Water play features, natural shade, and integrated landscaping ensure the playground blends seamlessly with its surrounds while offering year-round enjoyment.
Locally sourced jarrah, timber, and limestone were used throughout, grounding the project in Western Australia’s character and durability.
More than just a playground, Lake Monger Nature Play Space has become a community hub, a place for families to gather, children to explore, and the community to connect in a safe, creative, and inspiring outdoor environment.
