DG Play worked with Helena Valley Junior School in Perth to deliver a custom nature play space that encourages imaginative play, outdoor learning, and sensory exploration.
At the heart of the project are custom-built timber cubby houses, crafted from natural hardwood with corrugated roofing, bench seating, and organic timber posts. A dry creek bed feature winds through the space with natural stone edging, feature boulders, and hardwood stepping logs. Together these elements support imaginative play, collaboration, and open-ended discovery.
Hardwood balance logs, elevated timber decking, and large natural boulders create areas for balancing, climbing, and quiet gathering throughout the space. Natural finishes such as artificial turf, softfall mulch, exposed aggregate pathways, and sensory landscape elements help the playground blend seamlessly into its surroundings.
